Nathan and Cynthia are some of the most fun people you’ll ever meet! Cynthia is so laid back and Nathan energetic that they are the perfect complement for each other. Even the prospect of nonstop rain on their wedding day didn’t faze them! We had never met the couple, but I knew from talking on the phone with the bride that we were going to have a lot of fun. And I wasn’t wrong!
As we drove around the lake waiting on the couple to arrive for their first look, it was raining just a tiny bit. And I was just a tiny bit nervous! But when we actually got out the car, it stopped and did not rain at all the rest of the day. It was such an answer to prayer!
We had spent their portrait time laughing and joking and having a very good time! Their bridal party were all friends and knew each other quite well- and you can guess what that was like! The girls wore stunning deep red dresses and carried bright sunflowers that looked so beautiful against the gray skies and brown grass.
The ceremony and reception were cozy and colorful. The whole day was such a reflection of them as a couple and I absolutely loved that! There were a few tears shed with the bride and her family as they greeted her after the ceremony as the first married one of the siblings. It was obvious they were a close family and they were happy but sad to see her go!
The wedding meal was a feast of southern/ Cajun food and some of the best sweet tea I’ve ever had! ( I’m getting hungry just remembering it, 3 months later!!) At the open mic, we got to hear from friends and family a little bit more about them. P.S.- that’s one of my favourite things about wedding speeches, you get a tiny peek into the couple’s life!
Nathan and Cynthia, I feel happy just remembering your wedding! Thank you so much for allowing us the privilege of documenting it. I hope you laugh together and Nate sweeps Cynthia off her feet until they’re old and grey!
