Tom & Amanda’s wedding day was not what they had planned. Even if you’re reading this post sometime after March of 2020, I’m sure you don’t need an explanation! But all that craziness happened ( and still is as I write this.) And in the middle of it, this lovely couple was planning their wedding. When they realized the date they had chosen would not work for some of their family and friends would still be able to come, they switched the date to the preceding Wednesday. They both handled it with such grace! Nothing could change the fact that they were marrying their best friend.
The couple met several years ago at bible school. Those first few weeks together, Amanda did not like Tom at all! But by the end of the year, those differences had resolved and they were good friends. Just friends, they said- but as time passed Tom realized it was more than that. They spent several months in awkward silences, but one day Tom had a chat with her.. and the rest, as they say, is history!
Their wedding day was forecasted to be dreary and rainy, but we met the evening before for their couple portraits. That was a really good call, because the light was soft and golden and the air was warm. I had a wonderful time getting to know them and taking their photos! Watching them together was such a joy- their delight in each other and the way Tom doted on his bride.
The next day was dreary, cool and rainy, but by the time we began with the bridal party photos it was just a slight mist. I loved the combination of her pink florals with the dark green bridesmaids dresses. The ceremony was simple and short, because of the circumstances, but there was so much happiness in that little pavilion!
