This wedding day was one for the books! I was beyond thrilled when Linda told me where their wedding was going to be- not only did we get to travel, we got to shoot at the most beautiful venue we’ve ever been at. Oh and it was wedding number 50 for Higher Focus Images!
As the day got closer, I checked the weather obsessively (as I do 🙂 ) and to everyone’s concern, it did not look good. There were a whole lot of prayers being prayed… Friday morning it was raining as we arrived at the venue. Just before we planned to start with portraits it stopped- and all thunderstorms in the forecast completely disappeared. Later in the day the sun actually came out for a while and we even got some golden hour photos. God is so good! ( but I have to say, I prefer wedding days where my faith isn’t tested so much.)
Linda got ready in the gorgeous bridal suite in the loft at Heyward Manor. With white walls and a huge window, it is just a perfect room!
Down beside the lake, the two shared a quiet first look… soaking in the full realization that all the years they waited were worth it, because they were waiting for each other and today was their wedding day.
The venue has lots of portrait locations so we got quite a few photos without even having to walk far. I could have shot around that stunning white barn all day!
After the bridal party and family photos were done, everyone was quite glad to escape back into the AC. It was the most humid day I think I’ve ever shot in, and our cameras kept fogging up going in and out of the building. But I didn’t mind the heat, we were all so grateful the rain was holding off!
Linda’s parents both walked her up the aisle to meet her groom. The congregational singing in that vaulted room was just beautiful! When the ceremony ended, the guests were ushered outside to greet the newlyweds and enjoy the appetizers beside the pond as some hard working people transformed the ceremony space into a reception. The decor was simple and lovely and went so perfectly with the rustic chic style of the venue.
Dinner was a chipotle bar that was so delicious after a long day! We see that menu frequently at weddings but we never get tired of it 🙂 Before dessert and speeches started we took a few minutes for some golden hour photos-in the sunshine I did not expect we would have!
Loren and Linda, thank you for trusting us with documenting your wedding day! Your lives have been so rich and full already and it will only get better as you go on together!
