Sergey & Elesa

The moment I read Elesa’s inquiry email months ago, I knew I wanted to photograph their wedding! Not only is she a fellow photographer, her description of her wedding sounded so colorful and bright!

And it was! Such a burst of color that you couldn’t help but be happy just looking at it.

Sergey and Elesa are both professional vocalists involved with orchestras. In fact, that’s how they met! So if course their wedding included lots of incredible music.

The day started at Elesa’s home. I had so much fun with all her pretty details and the beautiful, colorful florals I got to work with! The east room in the house was flooded with gorgeous light and made it so easy.

The first look and portraits were in the beautiful gardens at White Chimneys. Sergey’s brother has a dove release business, ( check them out here! ) so he brought them along for the couple to release. That resulted in some really fun shots 😄

We didn’t have a lot of time at this location and the bridal party and family were soon there. The morning light with the colorful florals and dresses could hardly have been more perfect.

The couple had in mind a specific kind of church they wanted their ceremony in, and they found it! The soaring ceiling was perfect for the acoustics as the vocalists sang, accompanied by a string quartet.

After saying their vows to each other in the traditional way, Sergey and Elesa sang ” My Solemn Vow” , a musical version of the traditional vows. It was so incredibly beautiful. These two are gifted singers!

The reception tables were decorated with not only colorful flowers, but colorful candles as well! In case you didn’t notice, yellow is Elesa’s favorite color. I loved the citrus fruit on the bridal table!

The reception included a bit of Sergey’s Ukrainian traditions, with so many delicious Slavic desserts and some fun games.

After the reception, we went to Twin Brook Retreat to finish up their portraits. It was a perfectly glowy evening and they were so in love and easy to photograph 🥰
