Winford and Joanna met when they were both teaching school in Ohio. It took a few years before Winford realized what a gem of a co teacher he had, but they are so perfect for each other!
They were married on a warm August day in Michigan. This was a fun wedding since Joanna is Curtis’s cousin and this is the third wedding we’ve photographed for this family!
They chose the town of Frankenmuth Michigan for their photos and it is such a beautiful place! We started out at the park and they shared their first look and read letters to each other under the row of willow trees along the river.
The bridal party met us there for a few photos and then we went across the river to a pretty street for the rest of the photos.
Before the wedding started, the bridal party all went to the bride’s sister’s home to relax and refresh. (this is actually where the detail and ‘getting ready’ photos were taken!)
The wedding was held at the bride’s home church where she grew up, and the reception a few miles away. Joanna chose elegant, simple decor in peach and whites with accents of gold and green potted plants.
Enjoy this peek at their wedding day!
Joanna’s sister Maria did a beautiful job on the florals!
They left in a shower of confetti and a torrential downpour of rain!
Win and Joanna, thanks for letting us capture your day!
light +love, Michelle
