We first met Dirk and Megan a year ago at Dirk’s brother Andrew’s wedding ( blog post here) All kinds of jokes about Covid were being made at that wedding- little did we know that a whole year later we’d still be dealing with the effects of it!
Like Andrew & Katie, Dirk and Megan also met while serving at Faith Mission. They are such nice people and it was such a delight to get to know Megan over the last few months!
They had an afternoon wedding, so we had all morning to take photos without rushing. It was the warmest March day you could have asked for, and we didn’t even wish for coats as we walked around the campus at Bucknell University.
Megan’s dress was made by her first grade teacher, who is still teaching and sewing on the side!
The girls wore olive green dresses and carried white and green bouquets- such a classic. Everybody had matching watches, too! Maybe it was the fact that everyone was warm enough to be comfortable, but this bridal party just seemed extra fun 🙂
The ceremony and reception were held at Beavertown God’s Missionary Church, which happens to only be 30 minutes from our house, so it felt like a close to home wedding. (which doesn’t happen very often!)
The reception was decorated in all white and gold and green, with candles and olive branches on the tables. Dirk handmade the boards that the bread loaves were served on, cutting and sanding and staining them all himself.
Everything about this day couldn’t have been better 🙂 Enjoy this little peek at Dirk & Megan’s wedding!
Dirk & Megan, may your marriage be as beautiful as your wedding day!
light + love, Michelle
